“Lord, spare my father sickness and destruction.”

her lifetime; shield her from want and illness.

that he cannot ward off when it becomes due.

before death, when his appointed day draws near.

than God decreed in the Furqān when He wrote.

once he has donned his sword-baldric and bound his turban.

perhaps it cawed good tidings for us.

they departed, though I still know the lineage.

    What overtook them will overtake me;

each lived a while, then went away.

wealth, little daughter, if any resourceful man ever earned it.

God rewards only the one who seeks His reward.

rending collars or scratching your face.
