وَأَبدَت زَواياه مَقالَةَ مَحزونِ
The face of the prayer niche complained when I came to it,
The prayer niche complained when I came to it,
and its corners voiced the words of one grief-stricken:
And its corners uttered mournful discourse.
بُلِيتُI was afflicted بِعَمرٍوwith Amr جاهِلٍignorant بِدِراسَةٍof study

“I have been afflicted with Amr, ignorant of study;
I've been afflicted by a man ignorant of studying,
his promises to me concerning the debt are promises made to cumin.”
Whose pledges of religion to me are like flimsy spiderwebs.
