For his companion to return to his homelands.

Extend to her the hand of hope, and establish for her
And extend to it the palm of hope, and make its measure weigh heavy
weight in Rum, that she may stand high in its scales.
Against the Romans on the Scale.

As for poetry, among these people—my lord excepted—

there is no distinction between its mongrel and its purebred.
No distinction in their view between its fine and wretched.

Long-lasting days and life of ease.

Your children are the moons of virtue appearing one after another
lightning that stirs the lover with its gleam.
Like flashes of lightning that stirred the clouds in their brilliance.
