لَها إِن رَنَت فِعلَ الصَوارم بَل أَسطى
Delight in her, a virgin who strikes with an eye
that, when it gazes, acts like keen swords—more fiercely still.

And remain for the sons of letters a pillar of guidance
whenever treacherous time attacks or exceeds all bounds,

for all time, while the stranger longs for the sanctuary
and yearns despite the distant dwelling, however far it lies.
