Nor did you inherit generosity from collateral kin.

Nor inherit generosity from a miser

وما قصرت يداك عن المعالي

وما قصرت يداك عن المعالي

ولا طاشت سهامك في نضال

ولا طاشت سهامك في نضال

Your hands have never fallen short of lofty honors,

And your hands did not fall short of lofty honors.

Your hands did not fall short of greatness

Nor have your arrows strayed in a contest.

Nor did your arrows miss their mark in an archery contest.

Nor did your arrows go astray in battle

فأين لنا نظيرك من قريش

فأين لنا نظيرك من قريش

لقد بعدت يمين من شمال

لقد بعدت يمين من شمال

Where among Quraysh, then, is there anyone to equal you?

So where among Quraysh can we find your equal?

So who among the Quraysh can compare?

Truly, right and left stand far apart.

Indeed, the right hand is far removed from the left.

Your right hand is far from your left
