في العالمين سوى سعيد يسلمُ

If immortality lies in generosity, I see

among all mankind none but Sa‘id enduring.

none in all the worlds but Saʿīd surviving.

None in the two worlds except Sa'id who is safe,

وله من الحسن البديع براقع

وله من الحسن البديع براقع

وعليه من بشر السماحة ميسم

وعليه من بشر السماحة ميسم

He wears veils of wondrous beauty,

And he has veils of wondrous beauty,

Whose beauty gleams in veils of comeliness,

and bears the seal of generosity’s smiling grace.

and upon him is the mark of generosity’s cheer.

And on whose cheek prosperity sets its mark.
