I come, I come, caller of revelry from the thicket,

To cloaks like branches from the thicket.

The tales are like lilies in meadows,

The anklets like bangles in outpouring.

The cheeks of Roman girls have emerged

From their veils and turned the eyes of Arabs.

    From every departing dawn, shyly,

There are two brocades of water and flame.

And she laughs, revealing teeth or cool hailstones,

That almost drip from dewy lips.

Young men vie with her, their faces fashioned

Both from pleasure and coyness from anger.
