O Abu Hasan, by your pure lineage,
Oh Abu Hasan, in your high position
May I defecate upon al-Tamimi?
Will you allow arms against the Tamimi?
فوالرحمنfor, by the All-Merciful لولاwere it not for ألفa thousand سوطlashes
فوالرحمن لولا ألف سوط
لفارقwould surely have parted from روحهhis soul روحthe spirit of النسيمthe breeze
لفارق روحه روح النسيم
For, by the All-Merciful, were it not for a thousand lashes,
By the Most Merciful, were it not for a thousand whips
His soul would surely have parted from the spirit of the breeze.
His soul would have parted like a gentle breeze.
