لمّا بَدا بَرَدى تَجودُ فروعُه
بينamong الرياضِthe gardens دَعىinvited إلىto التشبيهِcomparison
بين الرياضِ دَعى إلى التشبيهِ
When Barada appeared, its branches flowing abundantly,
When its branches began to be generous with their coldness
amid the gardens, it invited comparison:
Among the gardens, it prompted comparisons
فكأنّهso, as though it were فيهاamong them سبائكingots فضَّةٍsilver
فكأنّه فيها سبائك فضَّةٍ
وكأنّهاand as though they were قِطَعُpieces الزَبرْجَدِperidot فيهwithin it
وكأنّها قِطَعُ الزَبرْجَدِ فيه
so it seemed like silver ingots among them,
As though within them were ingots of silver
and they like pieces of peridot within it.
And as though they were pieces of emerald in it
