ذكرْتُI recalled فيon قَاسيونَQasiyun اليومَtoday أُلْفَتَناour companionship
ذكرْتُ في قَاسيونَ اليومَ أُلْفَتَنا
أيامَthe days when نحنُwe جميعٌtogether والمنىand hopes أَمَمُclose at hand
أيامَ نحنُ جميعٌ والمنى أَمَمُ
Today on Qasiyun I recalled our companionship,
In Qasioun today I recalled our friendship
The days when we were together and hopes were close at hand.
Days when we were all together and wished for more
فراحَthen began يقْدحُstriking sparks from زندَthe firestick of الشوقِlonging قادُحهits kindler
فراحَ يقْدحُ زندَ الشوقِ قادُحه
فيwithin مهجتيmy heart ولهيبُand the flame of الوجدpassion يضطرمُblazes
في مهجتي ولهيبُ الوجد يضطرمُ
Then longing's kindler began striking its firestick
So it began to kindle the fire of longing
Within my heart, while the flame of passion blazed.
In my soul, and the flames of passion were lit
