The garden has not dawned enfolding fragrance,

Sweet-scented, nor glory unfurled across the horizon,

Except to mirror you in spreading virtues—the one

On the day of glory, and the other in form and character.

What sweetness is theirs, from scent-wafting adornments and from traits

That rose above the luxuriant garden and daybreak!

Dispositions ambergris-like in fragrance, and a hand

White, dripping with bounty, and a lead none can catch.

You have decked glory with a necklace of these that adorns it, just as

Her necklace’s jewels adorned the fair woman’s neck.
