The figures of arithmetic are nothing but birds,
What marks of calculation but birds
alighting on delightful gardens.
Alighted on gardens in bloom.
ماdo you not تراهاyou see them لماwhen كَسَتْكthey clothed you جناحاًa wing
ما تراها لما كَسَتْك جناحاً
قَرَّبَتْthey brought nearer شقةthe long distance السُرَىof night travel للنتيجهْto the result
قَرَّبَتْ شقة السُرَى للنتيجهْ
Do you not see how, when they clothed you with a wing,
When misfortune has clipped your wings,
they shortened the long night journey to the result?
Your soul's desires are still in view.
