O garden of love, which has ever remained

Fair in its traces to the beholder.

Its flowers have blossomed among us

    With every lovely, rare meaning.

And its boughs have ripened in companionship,

And burst open with its fragrant love.

May rain bless your memory, O friend,

Who has gone afar, and yet not from the mind.

The pale camels bore him far to attain his wishes,

And how many in the heart remember him!

You made a blessed pilgrimage—O what a blessing,

    Whose beginning praises its end.

So return, with mind at ease, in gladness,

To an abode filled with happiness.
