ربَّ ظبي مُقَرْطَقٍ مُذ تَبَدّى

ربَّ ظبي مُقَرْطَقٍ مُذ تَبَدّى

خلتَ بدراً من فوقه قد تلالا

خلتَ بدراً من فوقه قد تلالا

Many a tunic-clad gazelle, when he appeared,

The lord of a glistening hyena since it appeared

you thought a full moon had gleamed above him.

You have become a full moon above it as it shone

لاح في الثغر جوهر من ثنايا

لاح في الثغر جوهر من ثنايا

ه فأبدى في الخدِّ خَالاً بِلاَلاَ

ه فأبدى في الخدِّ خَالاً بِلاَلاَ

A jewel shone in his mouth, from his front teeth;

A jewel appeared from its lips' folds

and he revealed on his cheek a mole—a Bilal.

So it showed on the cheek a mole without a mole
