Leave off delay as you urge the riding camels on,
Your delay in spurring on the mounts,
And hasten to those hills!
And easy does it for these meadows.

عزَالِيها وهمّت بالذهاب
For the armies of rain clouds have drawn back from us
For the hosts of Muzain have departed from us,
Their rain-spouts, and are preparing to depart.
Their prides and their intentions set on leaving.

And the north wind dispersed the cloud-gloom, until
The northern winds have cleared the haze until
The face of the sky emerged from its veil.
The face of the meadows appeared from the veil.

And the sky cleared, so that there appeared
The sky has starred itself until
Within it the radiant full moon, unveiled.
The shining moon joined it without a veil.

The gazelles have signaled since they turned back
On a clear morning from the house of domes,
At dawn from the house of domes

Of renewed joy in going to gardens
To renew the joys to meadows
That remind us of days of youthful dalliance.
That remind us of the days of trysts.

تَعزّى بالمواعيد الكذاب
We had kept our souls from their pastures,
We have detained souls from their pastures,
Finding solace in false promises,
Consoled by the lying promises,

Until we could seek a visit
Until it was possible for us to desire
To them, after shunning them and keeping away.
Visiting them again after avoidance and separation.
