Indeed, I yearn for the hill of Jillaq,
I yearn for the hill of Jilaaq
with a libertine's longing for the cups' sweet saliva.
With the yearning of the wretched for cups of wine,

For many a day passed, its adornments honey-sweet,
For many a day has passed with sweet company
there, in the shade of a garden of fine silk.
In the shade of a garden of lilies.

The nightingale in the branches repeating

The song of the lutes as the filled cup goes round.

Recall lips that kiss.

Where youth is fresh in its prime,
and life is joined to the sweetness of companionship.
And life is coupled with bliss.

On the horizon dawn breaks
like full moons that dispelled the pitch-black gloom,
Like full moons dispelling the dark.

Shaking the slender boughs.

An illness fed by generous souls.

putting the glances of gazelles in their coverts to shame!
That kill with the looks of wild gazelles.

In minds they leave from their trifling
an ecstasy that makes the wisest heart reel.
A confusion that makes wise men folly.
