ماءًwater شهدتُI witnessed الرّيَthe quenching of thirst قبلbefore ورُوُدِهreaching it
ماءً شهدتُ الرّيَ قبل ورُوُدِه
How wondrous a fountain that has sent forth
God has sent forth a gushing fountain
water—I beheld thirst quenched before I reached it.
I witnessed the irrigation before its arrival
فكأنّهso it is as though والريحُwhile the wind تخفِقُflutters حولَهaround it
فكأنّه والريحُ تخفِقُ حولَه
وتَهابهand holds it in awe فتكفُّso it refrains عنfrom تجعيدهِwrinkling it
وتَهابه فتكفُّ عن تجعيدهِ
So it seems the wind, fluttering around it,
As if it and the wind fluttering around it
holds it in awe and so refrains from wrinkling it.
And fearing it thus stopping wrinkling it

Rise, my boon companion, and set out early for pleasures;
Arise my boon companion to pleasures innovating
for the blossoms are now ablaze within the grove.
For the meadow has become in it flowers ignited

When birds alight and bend the bough, singing
If the branch bend the bird falls captivated
upon it, the river in the grove applauds, flowing steadily.
Upon it the stream patter unremitting
