وملاءةُ البستان في تفويف

Hasten to enjoy your life, for bliss has pitched its tent,

Seize your life, for bliss camps

And the garden’s mantle is striped.

And the garden's robes in wavering

والطير مُغْتَرِدٌ عليه يشوقُه

والطير مُغْتَرِدٌ عليه يشوقُه

جَيَدٌ بأعناقِ الغصون الهيفِ

جَيَدٌ بأعناقِ الغصون الهيفِ

And the birds warble over it, stirred to longing by

The birds longing for it migrate

The graceful length of the slender boughs’ necks.

Fine necks of pliant boughs

تصغي له أذُنُ الطروبِ فينثني

تصغي له أذُنُ الطروبِ فينثني

والشوقُ مِلْء فؤادِه المشغوفِ

والشوقُ مِلْء فؤادِه المشغوفِ

The rapt listener’s ear attends to it, and he turns,

The ear of happiness hearkens to it and it sways

With longing filling his love-stricken heart.

And yearning fills its enamoured heart
