ألاَis there no خلٌّa close friend يُزاملنيto accompany me صَباحاone morning
وتحملنيand carry me وإِيّاهand him الرياحُthe winds
Is there no friend to accompany me one morning,
With the winds carrying him and me
إِلىto مئْنافِthe fresh growth of روضٍa meadow عبْقَريٍwondrous
تُساجلناvie with us بهin it الوُرْقُthe gray doves الفِصاحeloquent
To the fresh growth of a wondrous meadow,
Where eloquent gray doves vie with us in song,
وتسمعناand let us hear البلابلُthe nightingales طيبَthe sweetness of شدوwarbling
يحرّكُstirs صوتthe sound of أُرْغُنهits organ الصباحُthe morning
And nightingales let us hear sweet warbling,
Whose organ's voice the morning sets astir?
