May your morning be happy, and may you live safely in utmost comfort,

ما سرت نسمة القبول على الرو

ما سرت نسمة القبول على الرو

ض فمالت بكلِّ غصن رطيبِ

ض فمالت بكلِّ غصن رطيبِ

as long as the breeze of favor wafts over the mea—

As long as the east wind’s breeze drifts over the garden,

—dow, making every tender branch sway.

Bending every tender bough.

ثم ينهى المحب من بعد إِهداء سلا

ثم ينهى المحب من بعد إِهداء سلا

م وافى بنشرٍ وطيبِ

م وافى بنشرٍ وطيبِ

Then the lover conveys it, after offering a salu—

Then the lover sends word, after offering a greeting

—tation that comes bearing fragrance and perfume,

That arrives with fragrance and perfume,

وثناء ما الروض باكره الغيث وحيّ

وثناء ما الروض باكره الغيث وحيّ

ا مروجه بنصيب

ا مروجه بنصيب

and praise—as long as the life-giving rain visits the garden at dawn and gre—

And praise, as long as rain visits the garden at dawn and greets

—ets its meadows with their share,

Its meadows with a share of rain,

فزهى زهره وأصبح يفترّ

فزهى زهره وأصبح يفترّ

الأقاحي عن كلِّ ثغرٍ شنيب

الأقاحي عن كلِّ ثغرٍ شنيب

so its blossoms flourish, and there begins to smile

So its blossoms shine, and a smile appears

the chamomile, from every gleaming-toothed mouth—

On the daisies, revealing each fresh, white-toothed mouth,

عن فؤاد يبين عن حسن ودٍّ

عن فؤاد يبين عن حسن ودٍّ

خالصٍ للجناب غير مشوب

خالصٍ للجناب غير مشوب

from a heart that declares the beauty of my devotion,

From a heart that reveals the beauty of affection,

pure toward Your Excellency, untouched by taint.

Pure toward your honored self, untainted.

ثم يُنهى من بعد وصف اشتياق

ثم يُنهى من بعد وصف اشتياق

للجناب الأعزّ ملء القلوب

للجناب الأعزّ ملء القلوب

Then he conveys it, after describing a longing—

Then word is conveyed, after describing a longing

for the dearest Presence—a longing that fills all hearts.

For your most esteemed self, filling the hearts.
