May God water the days in the Ghouta of Jilliq,

The path of my leisurely rambles led to its soft-soiled land,

To the hillocks at the foot of its Qasioun,

The pathways of the east wind, that fragrant perfumer,

To its meadow, embroidered in the wake of its rain,

To its dark-green, lush, humming garden, clad in brocade.
