سَلِask الركبَthe caravan هلwhether مَرّواthey passed علىby جِيرةneighbors الرَنْدِthe laurel trees
سَلِ الركبَ هل مَرّوا على جِيرة الرَنْدِ
وهلْand whether حملواthey carried منهمfrom them تحيةa greeting ذيone possessing ودِّaffection
وهلْ حملوا منهم تحية ذي ودِّ
Ask the caravan whether they passed by those dwelling by the laurels,
Ask the caravans if they passed by the meadows of Randa
and whether they brought from them a greeting from one who loves.
And if they carried greetings from those of affection
فعهديfor my knowledge بهمof them لاnot ينزعونthey withdraw عنfrom الوفاfaithfulness
فعهدي بهم لا ينزعون عن الوفا
بحالunder any circumstance ولاand not يلوونَthey turn aside عنfrom صادقtrue العهدthe pledge
بحال ولا يلوونَ عن صادق العهد
For I have known them never to abandon faithfulness
For my pact with them is unwavering loyalty
under any circumstance, nor turn aside from a true pledge.
Neither their circumstances nor integrity of their vow waver
