وأهَيفَand a slender-waisted youth مَغْنُوجِcoy اللَّواحِظِthe glances مُتْرَفٍpampered
وأهَيفَ مَغْنُوجِ اللَّواحِظِ مُتْرَفٍ
رهيفِdelicate التَثنّيthe swaying ناهَزَnearly reached العَشْرَten فيin السِنِّage
رهيفِ التَثنّي ناهَزَ العَشْرَ في السِنِّ
And a slender-waisted youth, coy of glance and pampered,
With delicate wrists and observant glances
delicate in his swaying, had nearly reached ten years of age.
Slender in form, over ten years of age
دعانيcalled me إِلىto باكورةfirst fruits الحُسْنِbeauty صُغْرُهُhis youth
دعاني إِلى باكورة الحُسْنِ صُغْرُهُ
ولمand did not أرَI see شيئاًanything مثلَlike باكورةfirst fruits الحُسْنِbeauty
ولم أرَ شيئاً مثلَ باكورة الحُسْنِ
His youth beckoned me to the first fruits of beauty,
His youth called me to the prime of beauty
and I have seen nothing like the first fruits of beauty.
Yet nothing equals the prime of beauty
