She visited by stealth, despite the enemies’ scheming—
She visited secretly, despite the enemies’ plotting;
a guileless young woman came, adorned with an anklet.
A guileless maiden came wearing an anklet.
قدalready صارbecame قلبيmy heart بيتَa home for تمثالهاher likeness
وقلبهاand her heart بَيْتاًa home لتمثاليfor my likeness
My heart has become a dwelling for her likeness,
My heart had already become a home for her likeness,
and her heart a dwelling for my likeness,
And her heart a home for my likeness.
حتىuntil تعانقناwe embraced each other عِناقَthe embrace of اللقَاreunion

مَعْwith فرطextreme degree of تضييقtight clasping وإِقبالِand eagerness
until we embraced in reunion’s embrace,
Until we embraced in the embrace of reunion,
pressing close beyond measure, ardently drawing near.
With utmost tightness and eagerness.
حَسِبْتَناyou thought us صرْناwe became لتضييقِهِbecause of its tightness
نحنُwe وَشخصاناand our two forms علىin حالِa state
You would have taken us for one idol, so tightly were we pressed—
You would have thought that, from its tightness, we had become—
there we were, our two figures in one and the same pose.
We and our two forms—alike in state.
