A stream drooped from Banas toward the wilderness,
He slopes down from the highlands of Banas to the plain
and became like a paralytic, its saliva flowing.
So he became like the paralyzed, his saliva flowing

And I have known the blade that clashes in battle
And my covenant with the piercing sword in battle
to grow notched; yet this one's scabbard was broken.
Breaks, and this is broken from it, its scabbard

Through rocky slopes, his river had been cut
And in the slopes of the rock his river has split
by Yazid; its hills thus guarded its two banks.
Increasing, so its two banks became hills

And the best of India's swords is one whose spine is sound,
And the best Indian swords are those whose blades are sound
and whose scabbard is torn above both cutting edges.
And torn above the two edges is its scabbard
