فأضحى وقد أربى على عنبر الشحرْ
A greeting like garden blossoms visited at dawn by rain,
Greetings like the blossoms of the garden in early life
which by morning had surpassed the ambergris of al-Shihr.
It grew on ambergris in the morning
يوافيكcomes to you منfrom أرجاءthe reaches of دارَينDarin مهدياًoffering as a gift
يوافيك من أرجاء دارَين مهدياً
إِليكto you علىupon متنthe back of الصباthe east wind طيّبَsweet النَشْرِfragrance
إِليك على متن الصبا طيّبَ النَشْرِ
It comes to you from the reaches of Darin, offering
It comes to you from the corners of two abodes as a gift
to you, upon the east wind’s back, a sweet fragrance.
To you on the back of the morning breeze, fragrant and fresh
