للمرءِfor a man مالانtwo possessions إِحسانٌkindness وسيئةٌand wrongdoing
للمرءِ مالان إِحسانٌ وسيئةٌ
كلاهُماboth of them منfrom أوليpossessors of الألبابunderstanding مقبولُaccepted
كلاهُما من أولي الألباب مقبولُ
A man has two possessions: kindness and wrongdoing.
A person has good deeds and misdeeds
Both are accepted from people of understanding.
Both are accepted from the wise
ينيلconfers هذاthis وذاand that منfrom أهلِهhis people كرماًhonor
ينيل هذا وذا من أهلِه كرماً
وغيرهand anyone other than him فيin كلاboth الحالينsituations معذولُreproached
وغيره في كلا الحالين معذولُ
This and that bring him honor from his people.
This one and that gain generosity from their people
And anyone else is reproached in either case.
While others are blamed in either case
