وذي تَرَف رخيم الدَلِّ يرنو

وذي تَرَف رخيم الدَلِّ يرنو

إلى نحوي ويرمز بالسَلامِ

إلى نحوي ويرمز بالسَلامِ

And a pampered one, gentle in his coyness, gazes

With a gentle breeze caressing the branches

toward me and gestures a greeting.

It nods to me and gestures with peace

هصرتُ به فسالَ به التَّثني

هصرتُ به فسالَ به التَّثني

وعادَ كما بَدَا لدن القَوامِ

وعادَ كما بَدَا لدن القَوامِ

I clasped him, and swaying rippled through him;

I converse with it, so it converses back

and he returned, as he had appeared, supple of form.

And returns as it began, upright and serene
