وأُتْعِبُand I weary منّيof mine فيin صياغتهاcrafting it النَّفْساthe soul
I fashion jewelry every day and night,
and weary my own soul in crafting it.
ولوand even if مُتُّI died ضَرّاًof hardship ماnot عَقدْتُI fastened قِلادةًa necklace
علىupon جيدِthe neck of مَنْone who لاnot يستحقُّdeserves لهاfor it لُبْساwearing
And even if I died of hardship, I would never fasten a necklace
around the neck of one unworthy to wear it.
