My ardor delighted her, so she swayed and bent gracefully.

And she intoned melodies in verse and sang.

Her voice—the nightingale in its rapture—

Sends forth plaintive longing through what she said and yearned.

Whenever I concealed a glance from her,

She closed her eyelids coyly—and sighed.

I see the world as hell whenever

I come to her hoping for union, but she withholds it.

She is my intimate whisper in the night of love,

And how often she slept upon my breast and rested secure.

I seek patience, in hope that we may meet,

So the soul may attain what it had wished for.
