إن   حبَّذوا   وقف   القتال  فأننا

نأبى  الوقوف  لما  يعز  ويعظم

If they welcome a halt to the fighting, then we

refuse to stop, for the sake of what is dear and great.

فالموت   أهون   لا  الحياة  بذلة

فالموت أهون لا الحياة بذلة

والذود  عن  عز  النفوس  محتم

والذود عن عز النفوس محتم

For death is easier—no to life in humiliation;

and defending the dignity of souls is imperative.

فلسطين  لا  تبكي  فنحن مجيبك

فلسطين لا تبكي فنحن مجيبك

بزمجرة   غضبى   تدك   وتعدم

بزمجرة غضبى تدك وتعدم

Palestine, do not weep, for we answer you

with a furious roar that pounds and annihilates.

For Gamal is victorious through Nasser’s triumph,

which protects him from the invaders’ guile and inspires.

صهيون  لا  تفخر فلست بمحرزٍ

نصراً  بما  ملكت  يداك  وتزعم

نصراً بما ملكت يداك وتزعم

Zion, do not boast, for you have not won

a victory through what your hands possessed, as you claim.

أبناء    قحطان    وثمة    بعدهم

أبناء قحطان وثمة بعدهم

من   لا   يهابون  القتال  وتحجم

من لا يهابون القتال وتحجم

The sons of Qahtan—and beyond them there are

those who do not fear battle, while you shrink back.

لو  لم  تكوني  يا  دويلة  عصبة

لو لم تكوني يا دويلة عصبة

محمية   الأطراف   كنت   مسلم

محمية الأطراف كنت مسلم

Had you not been, O petty state of a gang,

protected on all sides, you would have surrendered.

فالنكسة  الرعناء  أعطت درسها

فالنكسة الرعناء أعطت درسها

للعرب    تسقط    فاسدا   وتعلم

للعرب تسقط فاسدا وتعلم

For the reckless setback has taught its lesson

to the Arabs, toppling the corrupt and teaching.

اليوم    لن   نحيا   ونحن   بذلة

اليوم لن نحيا ونحن بذلة

حتى    نزيل   المعتدين   ونفرم

حتى نزيل المعتدين ونفرم

Today we will not live in humiliation,

until we remove the aggressors and grind them down.

مهما    تذيقين   العروبة   قسوة

مهما تذيقين العروبة قسوة

فهموا    أشد    الثائرين   تجشم

فهموا أشد الثائرين تجشم

However much cruelty you make Arabdom taste,

they are the staunchest rebels in braving hardship.

لن  يتركوك  قمامة  في أرضهم

لن يتركوك قمامة في أرضهم

بل    لن    تفيدك   عزة   وتندم

بل لن تفيدك عزة وتندم

They will not let you remain as rubbish on their land;

rather, might will not help you, and you will regret it.

فالنصر   آتٍ   لا   محالة  قربه

فالنصر آتٍ لا محالة قربه

مهما     تباطأ     زحفه    يتقدم

مهما تباطأ زحفه يتقدم

For victory is coming, surely near at hand;

however slow its march, it advances.

إن   التفاوض  لن  يكون  وسيلةً

إن التفاوض لن يكون وسيلةً

بالنَّار   والبارود   نحن   سنعدم

بالنَّار والبارود نحن سنعدم

Indeed, negotiation will not be a means;

with fire and gunpowder, we shall annihilate.

قل    للعصابة   تستعد   لجمعها

قل للعصابة تستعد لجمعها

زاد     الرحيل    لأنها    ستهدَّم

زاد الرحيل لأنها ستهدَّم

Tell the gang to prepare to gather its

provisions for departure, for it will be demolished.

أمريكة   الرعناء   نحن   نذيقها

أمريكة الرعناء نحن نذيقها

داء    الهزيمة    تحتمله    لتنعم

داء الهزيمة تحتمله لتنعم

Reckless America—we shall make her taste

the sickness of defeat, for her to bear and enjoy.

فالعرب   صامدة   بقوة  عزمها

فالعرب صامدة بقوة عزمها

لتشيد    أبراج    السعادة    سلم

لتشيد أبراج السعادة سلم

For the Arabs stand firm through the strength of their resolve,

to raise the towers of happiness in peace.

باسم   الذين  استشهدوا  سنطهر

باسم الذين استشهدوا سنطهر

أرضى   النبوة   ملكنا   والمغنم

أرضى النبوة ملكنا والمغنم

In the name of those who were martyred, we shall cleanse

the land of prophethood, our possession and prize.

وتعود   للعرب  الكرام  حضارة

وتعود للعرب الكرام حضارة

فقدت    لترجع    حقهم   وتكرم

فقدت لترجع حقهم وتكرم

And to the noble Arabs a civilization shall return,

once lost, to restore their rights and honor them.

هذي   الطريقة  لن  تحل  محلها

هذي الطريقة لن تحل محلها

طرق الخنوع ولا الخضوع تعمم

طرق الخنوع ولا الخضوع تعمم

This path shall not be replaced

by ways of abasement, nor shall submission spread.

هيا   بنا   نحو   التكاتف   جملة

هيا بنا نحو التكاتف جملة

لنبيد    أعداء    الحياة    ونهزم

لنبيد أعداء الحياة ونهزم

Come, let us all move toward solidarity,

to annihilate the enemies of life and defeat them.
