This land was indeed once my homeland.

In its soil grew the fortresses of my ancestral heritage.

My homeland was a nation, the sun of the worlds,

a mighty body, immense in glory.

In every handspan stood a monument of honor,

founded by a sea of blood and ink.

On its soil, the pebbles recount in song

the history of the light of civilization and struggle.

The seas of knowledge once quenched humankind's thirst,

and the echo of their call was flowing milk: 'Is anyone thirsty?'

Darkness once roamed through all the worlds,

and whenever it reached this land, it ended up in fetters.

The swords of truth lent glory to proud defiance,

watering the soil with the blood of tyranny.

Light once shone here in my land,

and so destroyed the oppression of ignorance and hatred.

My homeland has become torn apart; you cannot see

one severed limb embracing another with affection.

For every border is indeed a dagger in its body,

and so its limbs and my heart were torn apart.

I became a stranger in the depths of my home, adrift,

with my feelings like fire without ash.

Our bonds were severed, and so our wailing became

like that of a hired woman mourning the death of the envious.

Our blood flows like seas, and indeed we are

drowning in seas of oppression, without helping hands.

Yet I am certain that our glory will awaken

to rule this land as the forefathers did.

And my dream remains to see its dawn,

so it may bring happiness to this universe,

and thus restore all dignity to humankind,

and once more be the best support for the free.

This land will once more become a single body

and illuminate this universe with its glories.
