Bare your teeth as you wish, O black nights,
Unfurl whatever you wish, O dark nights,
for Abu al-Tayyib fears no spearheads.
For Abu al-Tayyib does not fear misfortunes.

If I hold back from war, then I am
If I hold back from battle, then I am
a criminal who falls short of the heights of glory.
A criminal who refrains from noble deeds.
